Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal information Watchword Marketing collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. It was last updated in October 2026.
Who we are
Watchword Marketing is run by Neil Addison and based in Southport. For anything to do with your information, email neil@watchwordmarketing.co.uk.
What we collect
- What you enter in our free second opinion form: your business details, your answers, your name, email address, phone number and the best time to reach you.
- What you tell us when you email or speak to us.
- Information about your business that is already public, such as your website, Google listing, reviews and social media profiles, which we look at to prepare your second opinion.
Why we use it
We use your information to prepare the second opinion you asked for, to reply to you, and to discuss any work you'd like us to do. We rely on the fact that you asked us to do this and on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries. If you become a client, we use your information to carry out the work we've agreed.
We won't add you to a mailing list unless you ask to join one, and we never sell or share your details for anyone else's marketing.
Where it's kept
Form submissions are received through Netlify, which hosts this website, and our email runs on Google Workspace. These providers may store data outside the UK, in which case they use the legal safeguards that UK data protection law requires.
How long we keep it
If you don't go on to work with us, we delete your enquiry within 12 months. If you become a client, we keep your records for as long as we need them for the work and for our tax and accounting obligations.
Cookies
This website doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies. Its fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address with Google.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. Email neil@watchwordmarketing.co.uk and we'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
